Despite being a fan favorite, Albus Dumbledore won’t be appearing in Hogwarts Legacy. This is because the game is set in 1890, two years before Dumbledore’s first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Because of this, players won’t get a chance to encounter the iconic headmaster during their journey through the school and nearby areas.
Why isn’t Dumbledore in Hogwarts Legacy?
Professor Albus Dumbledore, the great wizard of Hogwarts was born in 1881 and would be just nine years old during the events of Hogwarts Legacy. This would not be old enough for him to attend the school as a first year.
In 1892, Albus Dumbledore entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a first-year student. Little did anyone know, he would eventually become a beloved figure, known for his powerful magical abilities, wise counsel, and unwavering dedication to defeating Lord Voldemort. During the time of Hogwarts Legacy, Dumbledore was still an unknown figure, but his legacy was just beginning to be formed.
Hogwarts Legacy brings with it the opportunity to explore a different era of life at Hogwarts. Despite Dumbledore not being present, players will still be able to encounter the ancestors of certain iconic characters from the Harry Potter franchise. You won’t want to miss out on the Easter eggs scattered throughout the game, either! Hogwarts Legacy is the perfect chance for all fans of the magical universe to get a taste of what it was like to live in the wizarding world before the time of Dumbledore.
