CleanMyMac X by MacPaw is a handy all-in-one maintenance tool that does everything you need it to do to keep your Mac speedy and malware free.

CleanMyMac X has grown into the great all in one tool that we have today.
The application includes five major maintenance categories: Cleanup, Protection, Speed, Applications, and Files. Each category contains tools unique to each category that you can run in just a matter of clicks, this makes this application one of the easiest to use on the market.
Smart Scan
The Smart Scan tool is arguably the best tool that CleanMyMac X offers. It is 3 step scanner that automatically finds ways to improve your computers performance in 3 major categories, Cleanup, Protection, and Speed.
Running the Smart Scan is extremely simple, just press the ‘Scan’ button that you can see as soon as you open the CleanMyMac X application. Once the scan is complete you will see a summary of what is recommended, you can then automatically run all of the recommended tasks by pressing the ‘Run‘ button.
If the Smart Scan isn’t the way you want to go, you can easily run any of the following modules individually:
- System Junk
- Mail Attachments
- Trash Bins
- Malware Removal
- Privacy
- Optimization
- Maintenance
- Uninstaller – learn how to uninstall CleanMyMac X if you need to.
- Updated
- Extensions
- Space Lens
- Large & Old Files
- Shredder
All of the above modules have great features that you can run individually as and when you see fit, keeping you Mac up to speed, all the time.
CleanMyMac X Summary
CleanMyMac X is a near perfect application that performs exceptionally in almost all of its modules and tools. The app itself is great at clearing unused junk off your Mac, as well as keeping it clean from malware and other harmful contents.
The app’s menu bar has really evolved overtime to provide you with a quick snapshot of your Mac’s performance, which I personally find very handy.
Whilst I am fully aware that this application isn’t perfect, and let’s be honest… nothing is perfect. One thing I love about CleanMyMac X is the frequency of updates it receives to make it better each week, it shows that MacPaw really care about this application and want it to be the best it can be at everything it offers.
I have used CleanMyMac X by MacPaw for over 2 years now and I can honestly say that it has not failed me once. I hold a license for all 3 of my Mac’s and I will not be looking for an alternative any time soon.
